Peacefully, on Wednesday, April 8, 2020 Martin passed away in his 58th year. Dearly loved by his mother May Queen and the late Jim Queen; partner Lisa Youmans; former Spouse Tanya Queen; children Breanne and James. Cherished brother of Anne Queen (Stephen Blanchard), John Queen, and Christine Queen (Robert Fennimore). Martin will be forever in our hearts, and will be greatly missed by his many nieces, nephews and friends. Martin’s spirit of giving was demonstrated through his involvement with a number of organizations. As a founding Board Member of the Boys & Girls Clubs of Regina , he was a committed community volunteer and inspired others to give of their time. Martin sat on numerous Boards of Directors including the Belleville General Hospital Foundation and the United Way of Quinte, and as past Chair of The Children’s Foundation of Belleville. Acting as a Coach and Manager for the Belleville Bearcats and Belleville Jr. Bulls allowed him to combine a love of sport and community with his devotion to his children. Martin’s career with Sears Canada spanned over 30 years, starting with a part time high school job at the Lindsay store progressing through the ranks to the role of National Logistics Manager in Belleville . Martin had a zest for life and a love of travel and adventure. He had a never ending desire to help others, and a strong Catholic faith which brought him comfort in difficult times. After a courageous fight for more than one-year, Tracey lost her battle to cancer. Surrounded by family at Campbellford Memorial Hospital, Tracey, 51, leaves behind her husband Craig and three sons, Kyle, Christopher and Jesse. She also leaves behind Gale MacLeod who graciously shared her time and love with Tracey’s family. The beloved daughter of Dave and Heather Reynolds, Tracey is an adored sister of June Vaters, Dale Reynolds, Christine Milionis (Dimitri) and Catherine Reynolds (Paul Sleeth). Her family dinners will be missed by her nieces and nephews: Darcy Vaters, Brandon Vaters, Kristi Reynolds, Daniel Reynolds, Curtis Reynolds, Brody Sleeth, Connor Sleeth and Victoria Milionis. Tracey is remembered by her Aunt Madeleine Mocon (Rick) & family and her Uncle Bill Reynolds. Tracey enjoyed life and cared deeply about the wellbeing of others. Two fond memories are trips to Niagara Falls last October with her best friend, Linda Price, and family trips to Arizona. Although she briefly lived in Toronto, Marmora has always been Tracey’s home. She loved her property on Beaver Creek and enjoyed her career as a Personal Support Worker with Care Partners. A fierce protector of the underdog, Tracey is welcomed to heaven by her beloved niece Megan Reynolds, Aunt Pat, grandparents and friends. As per her wishes, she will be buried at the Zion United Church Cemetery in Marmora. A celebration of life will be held after the COVID-19 restrictions are lifted. Thank-you for the good times, Tracey. You may be gone, but you will never be forgotten.

It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Lulu McConnell-Hunt, after her courageous five-year battle with pulmonary fibrosis. Daughter of the late Sarah Jane and Alexander McConnell. Lulu was predeceased by her husband Robert Henry Hunt, and was mother of Daniel Burns, and extended mother of Judy and Norma Hunt. A member of a large Irish family, Lulu was predeceased by brothers Carl, Thomas, William, Patrick, and Hank McConnell, and sisters Jane (Yovino), Doreen (Lalande), and Mary (Testa). Lulu is survived by sisters Ann (Bougie), Elizabeth (Robillard), and Sharon (Parke), and sisters-in-law Jeanette, Thelma and Joan McConnell. A special thank you to Dr. Charkhzarin, who always made Lulu laugh, the competent palliative care nursing staff and the many wonderful PSW’s at the Caressant Care Nursing Home, Marmora, who helped Lulu through her final journey. Mother of Ewen, Coboconk and Eric (Tami), Beeton. Grandmother of Ainsleigh (Zachary), Breanne & David. Great grandmother of Zachary James. Sister of Don Ryrie, Bolton. Anne was an avid quilter with the Tweed Bag Ladies and the Peacemaker Quilters of Northbrook. She was a past president of the Etobicoke Quilters Guild. Cremation has taken place. The family will receive friends at the McConnell Funeral Home, Tweed from 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, October 19, 2019 where a memorial service will take place at 12:00 noon. A reception will follow. Wife of the late Norman (Red) Gawley. Mother of Wally Gawley Jr and the late Wendy. Sister of Ruth Reid, Napean and the late Carrie Dwyer, James and Dan Bateman. EMBURY: Verna May
After a brief illness, Verna May Embury passed Sunday, October 6, 2019, at Kawartha Lakes Extendicare in Lindsay, Ontario. She was born March 11, 1926, at home, to the late Lizzie (Bailey) and Bruce Clifton Embury, of Madoc, Ontario. She dedicated herself to a career in nursing, having trained at Oshawa General Hospital, graduating in 1953. She worked briefly at Tavistock, Ontario and then settled in Lindsay and worked at Peel Memorial Hospital until her retirement. She was immensely proud of her home, which she shared with her beloved Pomeranian dog “Joy”. She was also involved in leadership positions with Girl Guides Canada for over 40 years and enjoyed going camping at every opportunity. Verna was predeceased by her parents, brother Elmer, sisters Lillian (Kelvin) Morrison and Marion Embury. She is survived by twin sister Vera Embury, of Belleville, Ontario, nieces Judith (Dennis) Laffan, Jean (Randy) Barre, Nancy (David) Roach and nephew Gordon Morrison and numerous great nieces and nephews. We would like to thank the staff at Kawartha Lakes Extendicare and a special thank you to Bev and Castle Keep for their continued support and exemplary care for our aunt Verna in her final years of life. Funeral services will be graveside and interment will be in the Embury plot at Lakeview Cemetery, Madoc, Ontario on Saturday, October 12 at 1:00 p.m. Arrangements, McConnell Funeral Home, Madoc. “Anyone who is in Christ is a new creation. Passed away peacefully, at Riverview Manor on Tuesday, October 1, 2019. Beverley Bjorndahl, in his 82nd year. Loving husband of Donna (Beatty) for 35 years. Proud father of David (Paulina) of France. Loving grandfather of Lola and Kalina. Son of the late Kermit and Valla Bjorndahl. Dear brother of Don and Adrianne and brother-in-law of Bill Beatty (Toni) and Roxy Beatty (Paula). Predeceased by sister Yvonne, sister-in-law Dorothy, and brother-in-law Guy. Bev will be fondly remembered by his many nieces and nephews. Special thanks to the staff of Riverview Manor, Dr. Berg, Dr. Beamish and the staff in palliative care at PRHC, for their wonderful care. Cremation has taken place.
