Over the course of his career he worked for various manufacturing companies in Newmarket and the Toronto area.  Ron loved his family. He was always supportive, putting action before words, and never holding grudges. A protector and provider. A very dependable husband and father. He did the important things that oftentimes went unnoticed. His greatest joy was spending time with his family - sitting down to dinner together, watching a good TV show, listening to Dorothy play her piano, and his kids practice their instruments. He was always up for a game of Lost Heir or Crokinole and enjoyed a good puzzle. Good food brought him joy and he loved to share that joy with others. He was a fan of the Blue Jays and Maple Leafs. He enjoyed taking his family to both sporting events as well as classical concerts in Toronto. He spent summers camping with his family at Wesley Acres on West Lake. He loved visits with his parents and his extended Kemp family.  Ron loved God and made every effort to pass on his faith to his children through Christian education, Christian camp, and regular church attendance and involvement. Over the years he helped to lead CYC (a church version of Scouts), volunteered as Sunday School Treasurer, and took on various ushering responsibilities. Madoc Wesleyan Free Methodist Church was his final place of worship. One of the worst parts of Covid-19 for Ron was not being able to go to church on Sunday morning. He often spoke about Heaven and was happy and sure about his eternal future there.  Ron retired to Belleville and found purpose and joy volunteering for Community Care for 7 years. He considered their clients his friends and took every opportunity to brighten their day. He spent time reading, taking notes and researching topics that he wanted to learn more about. He enjoyed the simple things of life. Mowing his grass, a walk along a country road, a cup of McDonald’s coffee by the water, a slice of pumpkin pie topped with vanilla ice cream, and going for drives to take in the beauty of nature.  Ron was a quiet, kind, loving, humble, and good man. He was loved deeply and will be missed.  Cremation with a private family committal has taken place at Stockdale Cemetery, Stockdale. A celebration of Ron’s life will take place at a later date.  Donations made to the Madoc Wesleyan and Free Methodist Church
would be appreciated.
