Peacefully, at the  Perth   Memorial   Hospital , on Wednesday, September 13, 2017 in his 85th year.  Loving husband of Ina Watkins, his soul mate of 36 years. Dear stepfather of Doug (Eileen), Diane, Brian (Jennifer) and Tracy (Linda). Grandfather of Sharon, Marilyn, Ann, John, Pat, Angela, Robbie (deceased), Jessie, Darcy, Allyson, Sophie, Laura, Sara, and great grandchildren Tate and Sabrina. Uncle to many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his parents Guy and Evelyn (Ireton) Watkins and his sister Rita Barr. He is survived by his sister Lillian (Stephens). Visitation will be held on Friday, September 15, 2017 from 7-9 p.m. at  St. John’s  Anglican Church, Ardoch. Funeral service in the church on Saturday, September 16, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. Interment  St. John's  Anglican Church Cemetery. Reception to follow at  Plevna   Public School , Plevna. The family requests that memorial donations honouring Bob be made to the Plevna Holy Trinity Anglican Church or the Clar-Mill Volunteer Fire Department.

GURLITZ: Lorraine
At Campbellford Memorial Hospital, on Wednesday, September 6, 2017. Lorraine Gurlitz, long-time resident of Marmora, passed away on at the age of 65.  Predeceased by her parents, Gordon and Melanie, sister Anne, and brother Robert.  Survived by sisters Margaret, Maureen, Linda and Marilyn, and brothers, Wilfred, Timothy and Gordon, as well as 12 nephews and nieces and numerous great-nephews and nieces.  Interment has taken place at White Lake Cemetery, Madoc.


ELLIOTT: Lois Mildred (nee: McCaw)
Peacefully at Belleville General Hospital, with family by her side, on Friday, September 1, 2017.  Lois Elliott, of Tweed, in her 89th year.  Predeceased by her parents Fred and Janet McCaw, husband Milton Elliott, and many relatives and friends.  Mother of Lorraine Cavion, Toronto; Karen Slipp, Calgary, AB; Katherine Heeney, Colborne; Wendy Cleary, Maryland, U.S.A.; Marilyn Paterson, Peterborough; Janice Clemens, Tweed; Patricia Elliott, Tweed; and Sandra Elliott, Belleville.  Grandmother to 16 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren.  Sister of Jenny Palmateer, Florence Chatten, Mabel McCulloch and the late Elmer McCaw and Edith Rydzewski.  Sister-in-law of Lorna McCaw and Lois Elliott.  Lois lived most of her life on a farm outside of Tweed where she worked alongside her husband and raised their 8 girls.  Her love of playing games with her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren kept her young at heart.  Cremation has taken place.  Friends will be received at the McConnell Funeral Home, Tweed, on Friday, September 8 from 1 p.m. - 3 p.m. with a memorial service taking place at 3:00 p.m.  Interment to follow at Victoria Cemetery, Tweed.  In lieu of flowers, donations to the Canadian Diabetes Association would be appreciated.

Passed away on June 24, 2017, in Hinton, Alberta, at the age of 79 years. Shirley is survived by her daughter Jodie (Robert) Barnes, son Kelly Pressick, grandsons Glen Pressick and Denis Armstrong, and her brothers Buck (Audrey) Mantle and Barry (Jo) Mantle. She was predeceased by her husband Glenn Pressick in 1987. After a brief battle with cancer, at Peterborough Regional Health Centre, on Thursday, July 13, 2017.  Léo Gallant, of Marmora, in his 75th year, went to be with his Lord.  Son of the late Israel and Rita.   Beloved husband of Diane.  Father of Richard (Sue), Lisa (Steve) Lester, and Leanne (Phil) Snow.  Grandfather of Cassandra, Tyler, Jaxon, Alexis, and Lucas.  Pre-deceased by his brothers Robert and Leonard.  Friends will be received at the McConnell Funeral Home, Marmora, on Sunday, July 16 from 2 – 4 p.m. & 7 – 9 p.m.  A celebration of Léo’s life will take place on Monday in the Frankford Community Christian Reform Church, 149 King Dr., Frankford, at 11:00 a.m.  Interment Mont Nebo Cemetery, Springbrook.  Donations made to the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated.

VANCE:  June Marie (Barr) 
June, of Tweed, passed away peacefully on July 10, 2017 at Moira Place AON, Long Term Care. 
Born in Capreol, Ontario October 31, 1931, June was the daughter of the late Marie (Scott) and Gordon Barr.  She was predeceased by her husband, James Arthur (Art) Vance, in 2000.  Surviving family members include children Mark (Deborah), Surrey B.C., David (Rita), Tweed ON, Gail, Kelowna, B.C., and grandchildren, James & Brendan Vance of B.C., Michael (Caroline), Lisa (Greg), & Laura (Dan) Vance, Tweed ON, and Callum & Devan Frost of B.C., as well as great grandchildren, Heidi, Juliana & Nolan Vance, of Tweed ON.  Also surviving are sister Carol (Paul) Ruston of Key Harbour, sisters-in-law Betty Flower, Renfrew, Carolyn (Dennis) Gaunt, of B.C., and many nieces & nephews.    June attended Public and High School in Capreol and further, Business College in Sudbury.  She was employed with the Department of Education in Sudbury for seven (7) years and was also employed with the T.C.A as a stewardess.  June married Art Vance in 1957.  She was a stay-at-home Mother until 1970, at which time she worked part-time for The Tweed News until 1990. At the request of June, there will be no visitation or funeral service, but a private internment held at Thomasburg Cemetery.  Memorial gifts may be made to the Alzheimer Society of Canada, 1600-20 Eglinton Ave W, Toronto, ON, M4R 1K8.

With her family present, Jean left this life to join her family in heaven; parents, Alger James and Mary Elizabeth (Chambers) Post; brothers, Albert Wesley and Ross Sheldon Post; sister/brother-in-law, Maxine Jean and Glen Briggs; and nephew, Gary Briggs.  A beloved wife of 60 years to Duncan McBeath (Sr.).  A dearly loved mother, who will always be remembered each day by her children, Darlene (Rodney) Rollins, Bill (Anne Marie) McBeath, Ron (Tammi) McBeath, Linda (Duane Davis) and Doug (Beth) McBeath; grandchildren, Brennan (Emma) and Kirstie Rollins; Mandi McBeath, Jenni Kay (Jessie) Dimick, Duncan Jr. (Colin) McBeath; Kendall (Ben) Lee and Brandon McBeath; and Jarrod Moore; step-grandchildren, Jason (Colby) Curlette; and Jamie (Emily) and Jordon (Sarah) Haggerty; great grandchildren, Michaela, MacKenzie and Mya Rollins; step-great grandchildren, Colson and Haylen Curlette.  Cherished memories by many cousins and nieces, her McBeath cousins, nieces, nephews.  Mom and Dad lived their married life in Madoc Township on the family farm that the McBeath family pioneered when they immigrated to Canada in 1837.
